TASK 2
INTERVIEW 1
002
“In our Naval Academy, one academic year is structured in 2 semesters and every semester end with exams. In the end of the first academic year military students spend almost one month in the naval training base, and in the end of the second, one or two months in a voyage with our training ship Mircea, every day students wake up at 6 o’clock, go outside to do the morning exercises, eat the breakfast, go to the classes and after the lunch they enjoy their free time if they have. Of course, you have a lot of responsibilities and rules you have to respect.”
Your presentation is clear and coherent. Be sure to include more details in order to cover the requirements of all three bullets. For instance, you mention that students have many responsibilities but you do not say which.
INTERVIEW 2:
Task 2
“The structure of an academic year at Naval Academy consists of 2 semesters in which we attend classes. At the end of each semester, there are 3 weeks when we have exams at each subject covered during the semester. At the end of the academic year we go on a naval trip to the North Sea. The regular schedule is as follows: at 5:45 am we have the reveille, then 20 minutes of a quick workout morning schedule and breakfast at 7 am. From 8 to 2 pm we have classes, then the afternoon report and lunch. After lunch we have some spare time until 4 pm. Then we have classes to 7pm and dinner after. At 8 pm there’s an evening call, after, spare time until lights off. Our duties and responsibilities at Naval Academy: students are to respect the commands of our superiors and commanders, to take into account the stipulated schedule and to attend all classes.”
This is a very clear, coherent and detailed presentation. All three bullets are covered in sufficient detail. This is a good example of how such a task should be successfully treated.
INTERVIEW 3:
Engleza 1
“Every day I wake up at 5: 40, 5 o’clock, I preparate for the revival from 6 o’clock until 6:17.Then I have to clear an area I have been assigned, After this I go to the morning inspection and at 8:00 o’clock I go to courses. The rest of the day is not always the same. It depends on the number of courses of the day. It happens every day in the two semesters of the academic year. Each of them ends with exams for whose we have to study a lot. In July after we finish all the exam, we have to go military practice. As a military student, I have to respect a lot of military rules, to respect my superior order, to respect
schedule, to study.”
There is a clear sequence of events despite some lexical inadequacies. You provide information which is relevant to the task.
INTERVIEW 4:
2 Pavel
“I want to discuss about the one year of the Academy. In my opinion was the heavy for everyone. As structure, it is the same with the other years. Reveille is at 5:45 every morning. We have breakfast at 7 o’clock in the morning, classes from 8 to 14, lunch after that and the dinner in the 8 o’clock. At 10 is the light-out.”
Although the information provided is mostly relevant to the topic being discussed, this is a good example of an insufficient treatment of all three requirements of the task. No opinion was asked about any particular year in the academy which shows that the student might have misunderstood the task. Events are presented in a simplistic enumeration and there are no connecters to make the sequence of events clear and the discourse more coherent. The last bullet has not been discussed at all.
