TASK 3

INTERVIEW 1
task 3
“In our domain exist a lot of different types of people, each having a unique character. I chose to describe two of my mates – Alex and Razvan. Physically, they have the same height, the same hair color, but different eye colors. Alex has brown eyes while R. has green eyes. Although they spend a lot of time together, they have different interests. For example, A. wants to work in Constanta while R. wants to work in Mangalia. They have the same type of temperament. They are both calm, but comportamentally, A. is extrovert while R is the opposite.”
You have provided a good contrastive presentation of your colleagues including their physical features, interests and personality. Your discourse is coherent and the ideas are connected logically and transition fluently from one to another. Next time, make sure to include as many details as possible to demonstrate your range of grammar and vocabulary knowledge.
INTERVIEW 2:
Task 3
“Daniel and Sergiu are two of my colleagues who I appreciate most. Daniel is a guy with a great sense of humor. He is tall just like me, brown haired and brown eyes. He is very ambitious and he aims at a career in technical engineering. He has a strong personality and he is not letting himself influenced by others’ critiques. On the other hand, S. is quite the opposite of D. S. is a little bit shorter than me, he is dark haired with green eyes. His construction is athletic; he likes to do a lot of sport. He likes to be appreciated by the others and seems to be dependent on the others’ opinions. He has a weaker personality than Daniel’s but he is friendly and trustworthy.”
Your presentation is detailed and shows good knowledge of topical vocabulary pertaining to describing people. However, the task has not been accomplished because you describe your colleagues separately and not simultaneously, thus failing to produce a comparison. Given the fact that your linguistic resources are adequate to allow you to easily answer the task, make sure to give a parallel, contrastive presentation of your colleagues the next time you are asked to.
INTERVIEW 3:
Voce 003
“Bob and Richard are two colleagues of mine. Bob is very short comparing to Richard, but he is a little bit fat while R. is quite thin. Richard loves playing FIFA and reading; on the other side B. sleeps a lot and loves watching movies. As personality, R is very calm and has good jokes when B. doesn’t have a sense of humor and is in most of the time angry. With good and bad things, they are good persons and colleagues.”
The strong point of this sample rests in its parallel contrastive presentation of the two colleagues discussed. However, lexical and grammar inadequacies make it less successful. Make sure you learn and use the correct grammatical structures to help you complete the task.
INTERVIEW 4:
task 3 Terci
“Nicusor and Robert are two of my colleague who I appreciate. N. is a great boy because he make me laugh every day. He is tall with athletical body, brown eye and brown hair. He is ambitious and help every person. He is a good boy because help me always and I consider that he is my brother. On the other hand, R. is in opposition with N. R. is a little man with brown hair and blue eye. R. has a little body and is very lazy. R. is friendly and a good colleague and his personality make me happy. He is a creative person.”
You use good vocabulary in your presentation, however, you fail to give a parallel contrastive presentation of your colleagues. Next time, avoid describing them separately but rather speak about both colleagues’ features at the same time. E.g. Nicusor is taller than Robert.
INTERVIEW 5:
3 (al 2-lea)
“Now […] I can form an opinion of my colleagues. I noticed the difference between two of my colleagues. Valentine is tall, funny and he is the athlete of our class. He has big green eyes and he is always happy. His plans for the future is to become a diver. On the other hand, G. is a small guy, is more serious that V. He’s a smart boy with great plans for the future like to become commandant of ship.”
You describe your colleagues separately while the task requires you to provide a parallel contrastive description. Use your knowledge of descriptive vocabulary to show similarities and differences between your colleagues by talking about them both at the same time.
