We are...

Dr. Laura CIZER

 Following her graduation from the Faculty of Letters and Theology (2000) of Ovidius University in Constanta, Romania, Laura Cizer earned both her Master’s degree in American Cultural Studies (2004) and her Ph.D. in linguistics (2009) at the same university, with a thesis on the toponymy of Tulcea County.

She is currently teaching maritime (as well as general and military) English and French at Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy in Constanta. She is author and co-author of numerous papers and studies published in national and international journals, literary and cultural periodicals. She also participated in various national and international language conferences, and in specialized training courses in the U.S. and France.

At present, her work focusses on teaching/learning the concept of
intercomprehension, previously developed within Redinter and Intermar - two projects funded with support from the European Commission.

Dr Delia Lungu is an Associate Professor at “Mircea cel Batran” Naval Academy. Her main areas of interest are teaching and teacher training. As a teacher, she teaches both English for academic purposes and English for specific purposes. As a teacher trainer, she is a British Council certified trainer who organizes and conducts trainings both in country and abroad. She is author and co-author of numerous papers and studies published in national and international journals, literary and cultural periodicals. She has participated in numerous national and international language conferences, and in specialized training courses in the U.S. and UK. Her research work focuses on developing/teaching the concept of intercomprehension within Redinter and Intermar - two projects funded with support from the European Commission.  In addition, Dr. Delia Lungu has a large experience in EU cooperation projects as a coordinator of a Grundtvig project, and as partner and work package coordinator in several other European projects.

 

 

 

 

 

This is Georgiana-Catalina CRISTEA, currently a 3rd-year student at Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy. Originally from Constanta, she has pursued her dream of becoming an officer since she was 14 years old by choosing the National Military High School "Dimitrie Cantemir" from Breaza. During her highschool period, she took part in a 2-year Erasmus project-"DEAR-Developing English through ARt oriented activities", which gave her the opportunity to visit Portugal. She was part of the robotics team for two years in a row as a Marketing Manager in a competition that had been held in Romania since 2016 called First Tech Challenge and also participated in ICT Olympics where she won the 4th place in Prahova County, also for two years in a row. Since she got admitted to Mircea cel Batran Naval Academy, she has managed to win the 2nd place at the Secosaft International Conference, held in Sibiu, in the Foreign Languages section, with a paper about "The art of propaganda during WW1".
She takes a real interest in the English language and computer science that have been put to work in this project.
