How to skim?
Read and highlight:

the first paragraph attentively to get an idea of what will be discussed in the text.

the first (and sometimes the second) sentence of each paragraph - they give the main idea of the paragraph.
-
the last paragraph attentively as it may contain the summary.
Assignment:
Find an article and practice skimming. Skim through your article and write approximately three questions for another student to answer.
